Current Sensor

A current sensor is an electrical device designed to measure and monitor the flow of electric current in a circuit without interrupting its operation. It detects the amount of current passing through a conductor and converts it into a proportional electrical or digital signal, which can be measured, recorded, or used for control and protection in various applications.

Current sensors operate using a variety of sensing technologies depending on the application and current range. Common methods include shunt resistors, Hall-effect sensors, current transformers (CTs), and Rogowski coils. These sensors can measure AC, DC, or both types of current and often provide electrical isolation to enhance safety and reduce noise interference.

Modern current sensors are compact, highly accurate, and energy-efficient, making them suitable for both low-power electronics and high-current industrial systems. Many models also support real-time data transmission and seamless integration with IoT platforms, automated monitoring, and control systems.

Current sensors are widely used in power monitoring, industrial automation, energy management, electric vehicles, smart grids, and electronic devices, where precise current measurement is essential for safety, efficiency, and optimal system performance.
