Level Sensor

A level sensor is an electronic device designed to detect, measure, and monitor the level of liquids, solids, or granular materials within containers, tanks, silos, or reservoirs. It provides either continuous or point-level information by converting the measured level into an electrical or digital signal, which can be displayed, recorded, or used for automatic control and safety systems.

Level sensors operate using a variety of sensing technologies depending on the type of material, measurement range, and environmental conditions. Common methods include float-based, capacitive, ultrasonic, radar, optical, and hydrostatic pressure sensing. They can be designed for point-level detection, signaling high, low, or empty levels, or for continuous measurement, offering precise real-time monitoring.

Modern level sensors are engineered to be accurate, reliable, compact, and energy-efficient, often supporting integration with IoT platforms and automated monitoring systems for enhanced process control and operational efficiency.

Level sensors are widely used in industrial process control, water and wastewater management, chemical and food processing, storage silos, and smart infrastructure, ensuring safe operations, regulatory compliance, and optimized resource management.
