Nodes

Nodes are edge or field-level devices deployed in IoT and automation systems to sense, measure, monitor, track, or actuate physical parameters from the real world. They collect data such as temperature, humidity, motion, location, energy consumption, or equipment status and convert it into digital information for processing, analysis, and decision-making.

Nodes can function as sensor nodes, actuator nodes, smart meters, tracking devices, wearable or asset tags, and industrial I/O units, and are often designed for low-power, battery-operated, or solar-powered operation to support long-term deployments.

Serving as the primary interface between physical assets and digital systems, nodes transmit data to gateways or controllers via wired or wireless communication technologies. Their reliability, accuracy, and energy efficiency are essential for enabling real-time monitoring, automation, and analytics across diverse applications.

Nodes are widely used in smart cities, industrial automation, utilities, logistics, building management systems, and IoT deployments, providing the foundation for data-driven insights, operational efficiency, and intelligent system control.
