Humidity Sensor

A humidity detection system defines moisture locations and tracks moisture content throughout time. When a change in Relative Humidity occurs, the system provides an output signal(s) which can be sent to an automated control/monitoring system, recorded locally, displayed, or otherwise used.

A humidity detection device detects changes in physical characteristics (e.g. capacitance, electrical resistance, thermal conduction, etc.) that change relative to moisture content in the surrounding environment. These devices can provide dependable and accurate real-time humidity measurements over a broad temperature range and in many different environments, depending on the use of various technologies (examples include single-sensor devices or multi-device arrays).

Modern humidity detection devices are engineered to be compact, have low power consumption, and respond quickly, making them appropriate for both stand-alone and integrated systems. In many cases, humidity detection devices are used in conjunction with temperature detection devices to provide accurate environmental data that enable systems to be analyzed more precisely and gain overall output increases.

Humidity detection devices are frequently used within many applications, including HVAC, process control, weather forecasting, agriculture, healthcare, data centers, smart buildings, and IoT environments; in which accurate humidity control is critical for performance, safety, and potentially even comfort.
