Why assets go missing between shifts

High-value tools, test jigs, trolleys and material-handling equipment move between bays and go missing between shifts. Search time is unmeasured and large, rentals are extended because an asset cannot be found, and the annual count finds things nobody has seen for months.

IP67 BLE asset trackers with two-plus years of battery are fixed to five assets. LoRaWAN Bluetooth gateways in each zone hear the trackers and report which zone each asset is in; the dashboard shows current zone, movement history and a search box that answers 'where is jig 14' in under a minute.

How BLE + LoRaWAN asset tracking works

  1. Tag. Fix five trackers to forklifts, jigs or trolleys with screws or industrial adhesive.
  2. Cover. Mount one gateway per zone; two zones in the pilot.
  3. Map. Draw the zones on the dashboard floor plan.
  4. Find. Time a search before and after; set leave-zone alerts.

How precise is the location?

Zone-level in the pilot — which bay or shed an asset is in. Adding gateways narrows zones; UWB anchors give sub-metre precision where needed.

Will the trackers survive a forklift?

They are IP67 and rated for industrial vibration and shock; screw or rivet mounting is recommended on vehicles.

Does it work outdoors in the yard?

Yes, with outdoor-rated gateways; yard tracking is a common scale-up phase.
