Why CCTV finds the intrusion the next morning
The problem
Yard and fence-line intrusions, and people wandering into hazardous zones, are found on CCTV the next morning. Guards patrol on a schedule that anyone can learn, and the camera system records everything and alerts on nothing.
- CCTV records intrusions; it does not prevent them
- Patrols are predictable and cover a fraction of the fence
- Restricted zones rely on signage and luck
- No timestamped, zoned intrusion log for security reviews
The solution
LoRaWAN fence-vibration and PIR sensors along the perimeter detect climbing, cutting and movement; PoE AI cameras with person detection cover the restricted zones. Events go to a security dashboard with a zone map that alerts the guard room within seconds, shows a snapshot, and logs every event for review.
- Fence-line detection: climb, cut and movement
- AI person detection in restricted zones with snapshots
- Zone-map alerts to the guard room in seconds
- Event log with time, zone and image

How sensor and AI-camera perimeter detection works
- Sense. Mount four sensors on the fence sections at highest risk.
- See. Install two AI cameras covering the restricted zones.
- Map. Draw zones on the dashboard; set alert routing.
- Test. Simulate a climb and a zone entry; time the guard-room response.
Pilot architecture
4× Fence sensors + 2× AI cameras (vibration · PIR · person detection) → LoRaWAN outdoor gateway + PoE → Security platform (zone rules · events) → Guard-room dashboard (zone map · snapshots)
Fence sensors report over LoRaWAN; cameras run person detection on the edge and send only events and snapshots.
Business case: response time, coverage, zone control
Ranges are typical figures reported for this class of solution; your pilot establishes the numbers for your plant.
- Seconds from breach to guard-room alert (versus next-morning CCTV review)
- Full fence coverage without patrol timing (sensor-based)
- Every zone entry logged with a snapshot (for security and EHS review)
- 4 – 6 days to a live pilot (four fence sections, two zones)
Who this is for: Security and facilities heads, EHS (hazardous-zone control), Chemical, oil and gas depots, Warehouses and logistics yards, Power and utility substations, Any site with a long perimeter or restricted zones.
Illustrative case study
Illustrative scenario · not a client reference
A solvent depot with a 600 m perimeter and a restricted tank-farm zone in Bharuch (illustrative)
Set-up. Fence sensors on the four sections bordering an access road, AI cameras on the tank-farm zone, gateway on the depot mast, alerts to the guard room and the security manager's phone.
What happened. A night climb attempt on day nine was alerted in under 10 seconds and the guards reached the fence while the intruder was still on it. The tank-farm zone camera logged six entries by staff without escort in the first month, which led to a gate control.
- Pilot budget: ₹84,500 hardware
- Breach to alert: < 10 s
- Unescorted zone entries found: 6
FAQ
Will animals and wind cause false alarms?
Fence sensors are tuned for climb and cut signatures and the cameras detect people specifically; sensitivity is tuned in the pilot's first week.
Does the camera video go to the cloud?
No — person detection runs on the camera or edge box; only events and snapshots are sent to the dashboard.
Can it trigger a siren or lights?
Yes, through the gateway's relay output or the dashboard's integrations in a scale-up phase.
What does the ₹84,500 cover?
Four fence sensors, two AI cameras and an outdoor gateway on a free-tier dashboard. Installation, siren integration and provider services are quoted after a Request for Quote.
