Why the roll call fails when it matters

The problem

During an evacuation the headcount is a roll call in the car park. In restricted zones — furnace, high-voltage, confined space — entry is controlled by a sign and a supervisor's memory. When a lone worker presses nothing, nobody knows.

The safety dashboard shows a live muster list, alerts when a badge enters a restricted zone and escalates an SOS to the supervisor in seconds.

Set-up. Badges for five operators, one helmet sensor for the solvent-store attendant, gateways at the muster point and the solvent store, dashboard with the safety officer and security.

FAQ

Is this continuous tracking of workers?

The pilot records zone presence and safety events (muster, restricted-zone entry, SOS, fall). Data retention and access are agreed with the EHS and HR teams before rollout.

Does the SOS work without the gateway?

The SOS is sent through the gateway; coverage of all working areas is verified in the pilot, and additional gateways are added where needed.

Can contractors use it?

Yes — pooled badges issued at the gate give a live contractor presence list and automatic sign-out.
