National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM-ICPS)

Overview

DST's NM-ICPS was launched in 2018 with a mission outlay of ₹3,660 crore. It supports technology development, skills, entrepreneurship and international collaboration across cyber-physical systems.

Why explore it

A robotics, sensor or IoT venture can identify a Technology Innovation Hub aligned with its technology and review that hub's current incubation, collaboration or commercialisation programmes. Support is determined by the individual hub and its active calls.

Key facts

The mission has established 25 Technology Innovation Hubs in academic institutions. In 2025–26, four hubs were upgraded as Technology Translation Research Parks, including a Robotics & AI Systems focus at IISc Bengaluru.

Best next step

Read the DST update, locate the relevant hub, and check its current programme and eligibility before preparing a proposal. The ₹3,660 crore figure is the mission outlay, not a grant available to an individual applicant.
