Milesight CT105-868M LoRaWAN® Smart Current Transformer is a non-invasive split-core current monitoring solution intended for indoor electrical distribution and industrial facilities. The CT105 has a 500 A RMS rated primary current. Its 36.5 mm conductor opening is suitable for high-current feeders, large motors, chillers and industrial electrical panels where remote current monitoring is required.
CT105 measures RMS current on a conductor at a 50–60 Hz supply frequency. It uses up to 3.3 kHz sampling, 1 mA resolution, and a manufacturer-stated accuracy of ±1% above 5 Arms and ±3% at or below 5 Arms. It supports time-based reporting of current and accumulated ampere-hours, threshold and overrange alarms, and optional temperature sensing through a USB-connected NTC probe. A current measurement alone does not establish accurate true-kWh metering without the appropriate voltage/power information.
Battery-free operation: the transformer normally harvests power from the measured conductor. For low-load applications or USB operation, it can instead be powered at 5 V via USB Type-C. With current-harvested power, the official CT10x datasheet lists CT105 minimum reporting current of approximately 5 Arms at 1-minute intervals and 4.7 Arms at 10-minute intervals. For lower currents, USB power may be required.
The CT105-868M model is the 868 MHz / EU868 LoRaWAN® regional variant. It supports OTAA/ABP Class A, an external SMA antenna, configuration by USB Type-C or LoRaWAN downlink, and Firmware Update Over the Air (FUOTA). Standard LoRaWAN gateways and the Milesight Development Platform can provide remote visibility of monitored current and alerts. The design uses a CT clamp and separate wireless transceiver that can be positioned for better RF coverage.
